Mturi, Akim J.

Dr. Akim J. Mturi is a Professor of Population Training and Research in the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences North-West University, (Mafikeng Campus) South Africa. He received his Ph.D. in Demography from the University of Southampton. He is a member of the World Health organization research projects review panel since 2001. He was former Deputy Executive Director of Organization for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa (OSSREA), Chief Research Specialist of the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), and Associate Professor of Demography at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is widely published in demographic and other social science journals.
