About the author: The late Dr. Carl Jay Buchanan received his PhD in English Literature and Writing from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was Assistant Professor of English at the University of Tennessee at Martin. In addition to publishing more than 200 poems, including a book of poetry in the James Dickey series from the University of South Carolina Press, his reviews have appeared often in The Literary Magazine Review, and he also published scholarly appraisals of Edwin Arlington Robinson, Clark Ashton Smith, and others.
