About the author: Elaine Siemsen teaches theology and preaching at St. Olaf College and Luther Seminary in Minnesota. As an ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, her ministry has sent her to urban and suburban Chicago, city and rural Minnesota and rural Iowa. Her interests are currently focused on the establishment of geographic parishes that preserve rural congregations.
