Luft, Eric von der
Dr. Eric von der Luft received his A.B. magna cum laude in philosophy and religion from Bowdoin College, his M.A. and Ph.D. in philosophy from Bryn Mawr College, and his M.L.S. from Syracuse University. He has been Curator of Historical Collections in the Health
Sciences Library of SUNY Upstate Medical University since 1987. Formerly, he taught philosophy at Villanova University and was Historical Collections Assistant at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. Dr. von der Luft is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World. As of 2004, his 480 publications are mostly encyclopedia articles, but also include 30 peer-reviewed articles in professional journals and anthologies. Among the topics of his writing are philosophy, librarianship, clinical medicine, history of medicine, history of science, military history, cultural history, intellectual history, popular culture, medieval Iceland, and contract bridge.
