Oakley, Francis

About the author: Educated at Oxford, Toronto, and Yale, Francis Oakley is President emeritus and Edward Dorr Griffin Professor of the History of Ideas at Williams College. Fellow of the Medieval Academy of America and the American Council of Learned Societies, he is the author of numerous articles and books on medieval and higher education topics, among them Community of Learning (1992) and Politics and Eternity (1999).
