Barden, Garrett

About the author: Garrett Barden was born in Dublin. Following undergraduate studies there, he studied in Louvain, Oxford and, after a spell of teaching in New York, in Western Australia where he undertook fieldwork among the Ngatatjara in the Simpson desert. Returning to Ireland, he taught Philosophy and Social Anthropology at the Milltown Institute in Dublin until moving to Cork. He has held visiting professorships in France, Iceland, Slovakia, and the United States. Earlier books include Towards Self-Meaning, with P. J. McShane, and After Principles.
