Dr. Zake is Assistant Professor of Sociology at Rowan University. She received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
2008 0-7734-5173-0This study analyzes political writings of the Latvian intellectuals who pursued the ideas of national identity and liberation, over a period of nearly one hundred and fifty years. In addition to providing a better general understanding of intellectuals’ behavior and influence, it illuminates the largely neglected subject of the differences between the political, social, and cultural influence of Western and Eastern European intellectuals.
