Crighton, James

James Crighton studied German and then Medicine at the University of St. andrews (Scotland). He enjoyed a distinguished career in general practice and as Director of Student health Services at both the Universities of Leicester. Since retirement he has used his clinical experience to reassess the history of psychiatry: his study of description of schizophrenia-like illness in early 19th-century Germany was published in History of Psychology 7 in 1996.
