1999 0-7734-8265-2A cross-disciplinary social policy book, whose central theme is that a successful nation for the 21st century requires highly motivated, moral, and educated citizens. The authors link most of the problems of the urban ghetto, crime, welfare, drug abuse, and falling education standards to the weakening of the family. The second section of the book describes how personality and character are influenced by the family. The final third presents solutions. These integrate cross-disciplining perspectives to yield unique solutions based on strengthening the private as opposed to the public governmental segment of society.
