Anderson, Raymond Kemp
Dr. Anderson served many years as Professor and Chairman of the Philosophy and Religion Department at Wilson College, and is an ordained minister and leader in the Presbyterian Church. He was privileged to have been one of the last doctoral candidates of the eminent Reformed Theologian, Karl Barth, at the University of Basel, Switzerland. Dr. Anderson’s retrospective, An American Scholar Recalls Karl Barth’s Golden Years as a Teacher (1958-1964), which was published in 2013 by Mellen Press, drew much from the present material.
2013 0-7734-4467-XThe first retrospective work of its kind bringing us into direct and personal contact with one of the 20th century’s most discussed and influential thinkers. This work sheds new light on the later years of Karl Barth, the Reformed theologian, his focal Church teachings and his celebrated life as the “Lion of European theology”.
2015 0-7734-3497-6Collected between the covers of this book are highlights from some thirty evening discussions with one of the most provocative contemporary thinkers of the scriptural tradition reflecting on the possibility of truly knowing the Unknown. Karl Barth’s take on life amazes with its perennial freshness while he offers a powerful antidote for the oppressive forces that shatter security and split our world today.
