Poole, Richard L.
Richard L. Poole is a Professor and Chair of the Theatre Department at Briar Cliff
University in Sioux City, Iowa. A Fulbright Scholar, he has given papers focusing on
Midwest Rural/Small Town theatre topics at ASTR, MATC, SETC, ATHE, the Society
for the Preservation of Tent, Repertoire and Folk Theatre, and the Popular Culture
Society. He has published articles and written book reviews. Additionally he created
entries for The Guide to Popular Culture and the Cambridge Guide to American Theatre (2nd Edition). He also writes plays, acts and directs.
