Shepard, Roy

About the poet: Roy Shepard began dictating poems to his mother when he was five years old. He won the annual poetry prize when he was a student at Haverford College. In 1991 his collection An Eye for My Passing, won the Embers chapbook book competition, and other awards followed, including second prize in the annual Nimrod/Hardman awards for some of the poems gathered here under the heading, Going Back. 1996 saw the publication of The Latest Epistle of Jim, winner of the Mid-List Press First Series novel award. A former pastor and teacher, Roy Shepard is Township Historian of Montclair, New Jersey.
