About the editors: Vicki Hesli received her PhD in Political Science from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. She is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science, and the Director of Graduate Studies at The University of Iowa, Iowa City. She is the author of many articles, book chapters, and co author of Villages Astir: Community Development, Tradition, and Change in Korea (Praeger, 1993) and Community Development and Rational Choice: The Case of Korea (Monograph Series in World Affairs, 1983)
Margaret Mills received her PhD in Slavic Linguistics from The University of Michigan. She is currently Associate Professor of Russian at The University of Iowa, Iowa City. In addition to articles, she is the author/co-author of University of Iowa Neonatology Handbook: A Russian Translation Project for Dissemination in the St. Petersburg Pediatric Regional Hospital System (UI, 1997) Topics in Colloquial Russian (Peter Lang, 1990) and Slavic Gender Linguistics (John Benjamin, 1998)
