About the author: Dr. Yaw Oheneba-Sakyi received his PhD in Sociology from Brigham Young University. He is currently an Associate Professor of Sociology at SUNY Potsdam. The recipient of the SUNY President’s Award for Excellence in Research and Creative Endeavors, his publications have appeared in several international journals including the Journal of Asian and African Studies, Journal of Comparative Family Studies, Sociological Perspectives, International Journal of Sociology of the Family, Human Biology, Family Perspective, and Journal of Biosocial Science. He is also the author of Family Planning and Reproductive Health Services in Ghana: An Annotated Bibliography (Greenwood Press, 1994).
