Feminine Images of God in the Visions of Saint Hildegard of Bingen's Scivias

This study links a topic of current interest in feminist theology, inclusive God-images, with Hildegard of Bingen's twelfth-century text, showing how Hildegard's images of God transcend the gendered-image of God as Father. The author springboards from the work of several contemporary authorities, among them Carl Jung, Otto Pächt, and Adelgundis Führkötter, to unravel Hildegard's multi-layered thought process.
