Headhunting

The ancient practice of headhunting becomes a metaphor among these poems for the search for human essence. The headhunter finds in his prize the physical equivalent of the holy chalice or sacred icon. And if today our talismans are less gruesome, they nonetheless reflect the same desire for an understanding of human life. In this, his third collection of poems, George Moore explores the ever-present relationship between violence and the sacred.
