Reviews
“Dr. Horn’s significant contribution, [is]not only to the research literature on caring and the education of African American males, but also to his youth and the educators who serve them. In fact, this book is a gift to future teacher educators on how to practice authentic care among young African American males in education.” – Prof. Susan Roberta Katz, University of San Francisco
“. . . a compelling example of qualitative research. [Horn] identifies an important problem facing educators, in particular, and society as a whole.” – Prof. Benjamin F. Baab, University of San Francisco
“As a qualitative researcher, Dr. Horn skillfully paints a clear picture of the young men that he works with on a regular basis with a great deal of attention, care, and respect and provides the reader with a true sense of passion he has for his work and research.” – Prof. Jamal A. Cooks, San Francisco State University
