This book summarizes and evaluates twenty basic theories of public policy-making, spelling out the most recognized and relevant theories in this field of analysis. It also assesses these theories as to their metapolicymaking capacities. The 'metapolicymaking' aspect of the volume, new and valuable to both professors and students, is an examination of the linkages between theory and outcome, to determine under which conditions a theory or theories should be used to achieve a particular outcome.
